In cosa consiste l’Orchestra Vocale?

English version

Luisa Cottifogli will hold a Vocal Orchestra workshop in Friuli, the next Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 November in Mortegliano (Udine).

What is Orchestra Vocale?

It is an intensive workshop in which we will talk about technique (how to enhance and manage your own voice without tiring it, through breathing, support, soft attacks) and then we will move to the more creative part, with stimulating exercises of listening and guided collective improvisation, ending in a large orchestra made of voices, where everyone will play different roles such as string section, soloist, percussion, director, composer or impromptu improviser. This “orchestral” a cappella work (Circle Song) has been widespread in the world by Bobby Mc Ferrin and his collaborators, and it is an exciting immersion in one’s own voice through creative confrontation with the voice of others.

Who is this Orchestra Vocale for?

The Orchestra Vocale is addressed to all those who use the voice as a means of expression:
singers, both soloists and choir singers, instrumentalists, teachers and therapists, dancers and actors. But also to people who simply are curious of the voice. Everyone benefits from the Vocal Orchestra depending on their level of knowledge, so both as professional or amateur musicians… I often met very good improvisers among those who are not able to read music! Anyway for professionals who are used to interprete written parts, the Vocal Orchestra is an incentive to create and improvise, lauching themselves “without a net” and facing the stage performance anxiety that often afflickts the most prepared musicians.

The workshop takes place during two days:
Saturday 10 November, from 5 pm to 9 pm
Sunday 11 November, from 10 am to 5 pm

But let’s see who Luisa Cottifogli is.

She has been defined by the national and international press as “a brave artist with few equals in Italy”, “master of the voice in all its possibilities”, “unique in her kind”, “one of the great Italian interpreters”, “a vocalist with a mutant voice: sometimes jazz nightingale, sometimes Mongolian-like voice “,” a rare diamond “…
She is an artist who uses the voice transversely to each style and therefore does not belong to any kind. According to Cottifogli “styles are means which helps you creating, not territories to which you belong; they are colors on a painter’s palette, and you use them according to the subject you want to paint “.
Voice is therefore similar to an instrument with a thousand tonal possibilities.

And above all, now that Luisa is in Friuli, take the opportunity to meet her with your voice!
